Splitting cards, authorization issue

Post by ElmerJFudd »

I have 3 cards (Scope Pro, Pulsar II, and Pulsar I) in a PC.
I've pulled the Pulsar I out and stuck it in a second PC.
I've installed the driver, and am trying to install the 4.0 software?
However, my keyfile (.RGY) will not import properly during installation.
Rather, I get a "Cannot open registry file!" error.
Soniccore have already provided me with the RGY file to install this card separately but I'm stumped.

What may the issue be?

Thanks in advance!

Thanks for the reply, good idea...
The installer does seem to be looking for an skf.
No luck though, getting the same error when trying to load file.

open the file with wordpad and be sure that the card's serial number matches the serial number in the keyfile....

When i had this prob i had to delete it from the windows known file extensions list.I clicked on "always open with wordpad" once and it showed up as a wordpad document then...the installer couldnt open it.It has to be shown as a Unknown file in windows!Dunno if that helps but it fixed that for me. :)

Solved,
Refer to this thread,
http://forums.planetz.com/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=27876

Last solution.
a file gets installed on the highest part of the C: drive during the driver installation.
apparently the installer can't over-write this file.
you have to do it manually, then try loading your key file again.
