Can i use a separate midi interface along with luna?

I got old luna which has midi socket different than normal midi cable to plugin,the ones i used are old and one of the wire inside is broken.
I think of using a separate midi interface becos i cant find the cable to plug in.

I'm not sure the pins in socket are broken or not.
And i cant recall whther they snapped in good when plugged in like other plug-and-play?
