Scope Project Card

Post by Webby »

Question, can one increase the number of in and outs on the project card? I see the Home card can be expanded to 36 ins and out. If I could get 24 ins and out from my Project card I'd be a very happy camper.

Thanks

the only way to expand is to add another card.

If you swap the classic I/O plate for an ADAT or Z-link one, you'll get your 24 channels + the analogue & digital on the cable whip, but for about the same amount of money as an I/O plate, you might be able to buy a used powersampler, electra or Luna 3 dsp card which would give you some extra dsp power as well as seriously expanding your I/Os. Pulsar I cards with 4 dsps can be bought pretty cheap as well.

Yes. There's the Z-link expansion board which gives you the ability to hook up the card to the A16Ultra. . Or you could use the existing 2 ADAT I/Os and connect a 16 IO converter.
The best option would be if you could find an old ADAT24 IO-plate; it's got three ADAT I/Os (24 channels) + 2 sets of MIDI in/out/thru. Too bad it's not made anymore.

I guess I'll wait until I record my band in 2 weeks and if my new system runs stable I'll invest in a home card with the expansion plate, then I'll have I/O's coming out my yin yang and a little extra DSP power :D
