some people asked for a way to split the signal for multiband processing.
some days ago i posted a "3 band processor" in the modular page.
it does the work removing the bands defined by the filters from the input signal adding their inversion to it and readding them after processing at the end.
playing some days with it i think it works
pretty correct, but i'm just using my ears.
did anyone try this patch?
i would really like to have opinions on it.
the two presets included are just two three bands compression settings using pulsar stereo compressors, but this days i tried to put compression to the low band, chorus to the mid-hi and a friend of mine with it's bass in the inputs and he was amazed...
yesterday i posted also two old modular1 patches aged two years now, and i wanted to know what do other owners of the mod2 think of the sound of modular1. it seems to me different, and not worst...
i think i will try to mix some osc's and filters of both the versions in the next future, who knows....
ciao, alfonso.
multiband processing
Hey u got there faster than me :]
I was thinking of making same stuff to have my own secret "master fx"...
I'd add some eq for all band plus some reverb as well selectable in freq (gated but is not right word :]), that would be a nice one.
A almost decent mastering stuff, still miss stereo enhancement but hopefully i'll find somewhere something and with that....
Optimaster has a free threat ?
hehe

hi alfonoso,
i tried out yer patch in recreation (can't load v3 stuff running v2), btw..thanks for posting a screenshot. and as i said before it is an interesting device and the multi-band idea (your not the first, though you took it further with the phase cancelling implementation) is a very powerfull one indeed, as you have found.
i really don't have any stereo inserts besides a few of defex's devices, and the 2 included plugs (peq and compressor) that come with luna. multiband compression is not something i am very comfortable with yet, so i find i can't get very exicited about it...eh.
i will give it another go in the near future.
about the mod1 patches you posted. i tried them (i just couldn't help myself)....well. they aren't really my cup of tea, i like your use of the fixed filter module to shape the sound (i forget in which one).
as for the sound of mod1 vs mod2. yes, there is a definetly a difference, and no it isn't necessarily worse. actually i found it a bit beefier sounding when i was working on porting stephen hummel's "personality of a bluefish".
all the same, i won't be using mod1 patches or modules at all. it offfers nothing i can't do in mod2, takes up more space, and is a lot less cleanly looking.
the difference in sound is neglible imo, doesn't justify putting up with its differeing format factor and gui. now, if the module sizes were the same i might feel a bit differently, but they aren't...
and lastly....people leaving feedback.
its a give take (yin-yang) sort of thing, you've posted many patches, why not post some reviews for others? speaking for myself, i can't....(errr, i get sick of saying this) post reviews really ,of newer patches.
i do try and acknowledge and thank people every so often though, or if they post a screenshot i may just virtually play the patch in my head and give ideas or recreate it (as i did with yers).
having said this, i still think there is a bit of lack of interest, or stigma to modular synthesis, which keeps more people from joining in the discussion, or leaving feedback on patches posted here.
i've been wading through cw's site more and more and i came across a few parts in the modular section where they kindly ask users to send their patches to them, and they will gladly talk modular or give feedback, i was thinking i would zip up all 5 of the patches i've posted here thus far and mail them to creamware and see if i can't eek some feedback from the "men" themselves.
i've mainly not done so, because i don't feel cw's mod section does any justice to what thar planetz provides.
barble, barble.
best.
