How can I disable the ACPI in the ASUS P4B266 ???

This information only matters for Win2k/WinXP:

Same as with any motherboard - you change this by reinstalling windows in "Standard PC" mode, or by switching HALs (will probably work but not suggested for the 'cleanest' way).

Check the "Tips & Tricks" section for "Optimizing your Windows 2000/XP" thread which gives more details.

i try to update drivers to standard pc, and it was working but i still had some strange problems.
i'm sure that's much better way to do clean reinstal by following subhumans directions on "tips and tricks".
