I'm new to DSP cards, bought a UAD-1 a few months ago, now I need a UAD-2.
Really liking what UAD brings to the sound.
My problem now is using too many softsynths making cubase unstable.
Also my 1820m is getting a little long in the tooth.
So, I'm wondering...
The scope 4.5 cards have been around some time now, are they about to be replaced/upgraded?
The audio quality of the scope cards is similar to the lynx cards?
They can run pretty low latency like 2ms at 88.2k on modern computer?
Since they have been around for some time are there some really good deals to be had?
Any help appreciated
Thanks

Re: Looking at Scope
Thanks so much for the info.
I'm having a little trouble learning about what products are available and descriptions of what the products are and what they do.
JRRshops has this deal for $1500
Creamware SCOPE Professional 4.5
Includes the entire Synths 'n Sampler & Mix 'n Master bundles FREE, with the recent addition of the Pro-12, B2003, Poison, VDAT, Interpole, & SBC plug-ins.
The STS4000 sampler, what sample libraries can it read?
Any links to product descriptions, sellers, etc.?
Or best way to learn about scope 4.5?
Thanks

Re: Looking at Scope
STS can read AKAI w/o any 3rd party conversion app. But every good conversion app. includes Giga, Kontackt, Akai, EMU, SF2, etc. into STS.
Personally I would buy from a retailer who has cards in stock for immediate shipping, and some installation support w/o having to email Germany.
http://www.promusicexchange.com/ ........Cheaper prices here also.
I use a 45 DSP DAW live for extra heavy synth work. We also have a 15 DSP ( 1 x card ) DAW that also does some heavy duty live mixing.
Below is an example of the 15 DSP card. I have pre recorded drums, vocals, percussion, and sound FX. I also use a pair of 6 Oscillator Mono synths, and route in an external Studio Electronics SE-1X analog synth. Also are 4 x Live vocals that recieve seperate DSP reverbs, then get sent to powered cabinets and monitors.
I am a synth freak, but that's the only real reason to have 45 DSP's or an XITE-1. A single 15 DSP card can do entire mixes in real time, w/o the DSP penalty that UAD 1 cards have.
I am very interested to see if the UAD 2 cards have addressed the " real time " issue. Their plugs are also exceptional in quality due to DSP programming. Several guys here use both in the same DAW.

Alright!, Thanks guys.
I had looked at the manual and I thought they had discontinued it or something, had to get the chapters folder, Duh!
Got some reading to do.
