Re: Info about the release of SCOPE XITE-1 and SCOPE 5
I went to my local music shop the other day to be told that my Scope setup was old now?
I don't see it myself and told the shopkeep what a beautiful sound he was calling old. I shan't be welcome back there again.
I firmly believe in the Scope sound and the longevity of my cards.
Long live Scope
It doesn't mean though that I'm not excited about the new developments but I am patient as I already have some cool grooves on the brew

Re: Info about the release of SCOPE XITE-1 and SCOPE 5
What´s needing extra test, the Xite-1 itself? the Scope 5? or maybe line production?
Re: Info about the release of SCOPE XITE-1 and SCOPE 5
In the USA audio retailers don't even know what Scope is. It will be something new for them.
Since Soniccore doesn't use the Yamaha flooring plan
it will probably remain that way.
Cool, 96Khz live will be key to my sucess and mystique.
I expect XITE-1 to last up until we start wearing desktop PC's as watches.!!!

Here's a thought...maybe they ran into problems using a PCIe x1 interface and are upgrading the design of Xite-1 to x4? Maybe they want to make it as future-proof as possible...which is good....
Or, they are still testing the Mac software...who knows?
We won't know anything until it's released officially.

Jimmy,
I thought you ordered just the new front panel? I guess that wasn't possible, so you ordered a new A16U for the color's sake only
Cheers

Re: Info about the release of SCOPE XITE-1 and SCOPE 5
the usd will be higher when you receive the Xite (which is the current trend)... patience means money Jimmy. The more you wait the less you will have to pay

Re: Info about the release of SCOPE XITE-1 and SCOPE 5
By the way Jimmy, you won't have the same feeling when you will receive your SOLARIS: the package would be much bigger !!!

I have officially stopped waiting for the update now!! it has been about a year now with constant waiting.. I give up! i really think SC should give us a little hint more often! about progress etc..
that being said; i still love my creamware cards and will use 4.5 till I or the cards die!

Yes it can be frustrating a little. Some progress info would be nice...the19thbear wrote:I have officially stopped waiting for the update now!! it has been about a year now with constant waiting.. I give up! i really think SC should give us a little hint more often! about progress etc..

My prediction?
We don't see the update until next year.

We don't see the update until next year.

Re: Info about the release of SCOPE XITE-1 and SCOPE 5
yes it is hard to say. I think they really were about to launch it in august so I just think that driver and hardware testing is still necessary. Furthermore, the existing plugins (i mean most of them) will have to be compatible, so some more time may be necessary. There will be reviews very soon (magazines, web mag...) so Xite MUST be ready and stable.
Considering there are no real competitor by now (uad2 are "just" dsp plugins, powercore are still under powered and are also but dsp plugins, most of DSP based solutions do not offer so much synth, and all the DSP based products remain quite expensive when adding the plugin price, etc ...) the Xite is still THE mobile "all-in-one" solution (great power, many tools, mixing plugins but also many synths are included in scope 4.5 and 5). So, although this wait is quite long, I am still waiting for its release as it may be worth it shifting from the pci boards to this express card/pcie product.
Should you want a 3 pci scope system (i mean the 14 dsp model) and it would cost you 2100 euros (second market !). Just add some money and then you get Xite which means :
- 10 x scope pro !
- 2 preamps
- scope 5 software (many synth and packages are included...)
Let's take the example of UAD2 in comparison. I sold my uad1 expert last year because this board was really underpowered. Let's imagine you want to get the UAD2 quad with the neve channel strip and it will cost you 1600 euros. This solution remains underpowered if you compare it to Xite and UA only gives one NEVE plugin (although it should sound good). As a sum up : you get only one very good plugin and DSPs. How will it cost you eventually after adding other plugins and a dual channel preamp ? An you won't have any in/outs options either ....
That's why I wait
.....

They only people that a suffering are already Scope users. All will wait as long as it´s necesary, because know that the Xite-1 will be.
The people who don´t know what xite-1 can do yet, they not are waiting for nothing, and so they are not suffering. Just will look at it on a megazine review.
So our enemy is our wish.

Re: Info about the release of SCOPE XITE-1 and SCOPE 5
I can only say I have been using Solaris 5.0.8. for a while now, and anyone who is using Solaris in Scope 5.0 is in for a treat.
I have a funny feeling that the SC team is going to throw in some freebies for the unexpected delays, which should have been expected from us guys here anyway.
The most important features to me are the last minute decisions to have Flexor III. That thread where everyone voiced their opinions on how sad they would be w/o Adern's FIII has been answered by SC.
Do you think for one minute that Steinberg, Cakewalk, EMagic, Pro Tools, UAD, PoCo.....etc......etc., would even give your wishes a second thought?............NO WAY JOSE. They would have released a bug ridden app. knowing that everyone would buy or upgrade and help them find the bugs for free. That's the way other developers operate. I was an inch away from buying Garritans " Authorized Steinway " ...
A contradiction in terms actually, as it doesnt' have the advertised performance features and sounds rather cheap according to many sad buyers over at the NS forums. How else do you think they could afford to fix their products?........they need sales to pay for the " finished product ". This is how things seem to happen in our chosen business or hobby.
We are so spoiled here at the Z by the 3rd party developers that continue to astonish us, and don't forget about the SDK guys either. I would love to see the guys from here go and buy products that they push at KVR and NSounds, and see how they like the feeling of a large stick being broken off up their ass.
But the developers there give in to the whiners and release unfinished products consistently.
Thank Your Lucky Stars That SC Runs A Tight Ship, That Never Strays !!

Metric Halo for macs, TC Konnect 48. Very real with big market exposure. UAD will be beavering away on an allinone box but some way of the pace.bill3107 wrote:Considering there are no real competitor by now
I think we can all rest assured the Scope-men over there are hard at it for us over here. More time spent getting it right less to go wrong for Xciters. Who knows what they are cramming in, bug-squashing, fixing, tweaking? Not me. Automation, hmmm. Scope-men are few but their will is strong and their gaze is steady.

Well, with Xcite he could have got his live set down on a laptop if he had it. He was always best in a three piece so no need for ScopeSynths.stardust wrote:Rory was never seeing scope. I wonder If he would have used one
Now Frank is another matter. He could have ditched the band and used Jimmy and his massed synth batteries in Vegas.
