Cubase or Scope hangs in XTC mode, audio repeating in a loop

Im just trying out XTC mode but are having problems. Everything works great (and sounds great!)
but then all of a sudden the audio from Scope ASIO hangs and starts repeating (like a modern version of a vinyl player getting stuck)

Any idea what could cause this? I mean everything seems to go just fine and then bam... I can still sort of exit cubase halfway, it asks me if i want to save the project but after that it doesnt close as it should and i have to force it to close and then the audio stops..

I only use one synth, Prisma.

Make me think to a PCI comm problem: clean your connectors and reseat your board(s).
