Hi guys. Recently i am trying to expand my scope i/o (was trying to get second hand a16 ultra but no luck for now) so i saw few things and i am interested to hear some advices. My current setup is Scope Pro and Pulsar II. Both are sporting classic plate. Recently i saw ar various forum that people sell something like "A2496 ZLink" with 8 analogue i/o (this seems interesting to me) then again i saw this at soniccore site: CLASSIC I/O plate with 20 ins and outs (http://www.cwaudio.de/en/products/extensions.html)
My question is:
Can i add that CLASSIC I/O plate with 20 ins and outs without a problem to my scope pro or pulsarII? If yes, how am i supposed to make connection between 20 i/o plate and my card? Is this something which you connect via STDM or what? I should remove my current connected plate to insert this one?
Can i do about the same thing with that a2496 zlink (cant find it at soniccore site)?
When i add them to my setup are they(i/o connections) naturally available inside scope routing window? Probably yes but i would like to confirm this..
Is there any additional info(thread, link, pdf or something) on i/o extensions available for scope (be it old or new)?
Any information will be greatly appreciated.
THX
Need advice with expanding scope i/o
Re: Need advice with expanding scope i/o
you can apply only one I/O plate at a time to a pulsar2 or scope board. if you already have a classic plate on both of your cards, you would need to add a third card to get more I/O. the single plates they sell are for swapping plates according to your needs, and equipping booster cards with them.mpodrug wrote:Can i add that CLASSIC I/O plate with 20 ins and outs without a problem to my scope pro or pulsarII?
you mean the luna2496 expansion box, I assume? well, it's not produced anymore, but you get get them second hand. you would need a board with z-link, then (either a luna/scope home or a z-link plate). btw, if you think of getting yourself an a16u you might want z-link anyway...Can i do about the same thing with that a2496 zlink (cant find it at soniccore site)?
it's all in the manuals. they came with your boards, but you can download them as well.Is there any additional info(thread, link, pdf or something) on i/o extensions available for scope (be it old or new)?

Re: Need advice with expanding scope i/o
Thanks for the info. Though most "hassle free" option seems to be a16 ultra. It would be great if there would be some option to just add some plate with 8 or 16 real analogue i/o but we dont have it...
Re: Need advice with expanding scope i/o
to have 16 channels with 96kHz you'd need a z-link plate. if 48kHz is enough, you can already hook the a16u to your existing adat-ports.mpodrug wrote:Thanks for the info. Though most "hassle free" option seems to be a16 ultra.
...and I don't expect to see such thing for the "old" hardware platform. so the a16u is still a fine option. It would be great if there would be some option to just add some plate with 8 or 16 real analogue i/o but we dont have it...
