You are joking right? I really doubt that there will be such huge "emulations". I mean take Profit 5 or Minimax*prodyssey or Warp69 reverbs. They are IMO best emulation you can have on some DSP to date. And you can run them on simple "old" 15DSP card...With three card in system you are almost free. With xite which is supposed to be 10 times greater then one 15dsp you are totally free probably at 96khz too (we must wait for that info).
My point is that with good programming in using xite we will still have a lot of room for other things. Everything other (synth with huge resource hog, ) is waste of resources and example of bad programming.

that 10x factor does not work unconditionally
the processing power scales linearly 'only' by 5 due to the higher clock rate of the new DSPs
the remaing 2x would apply only for such code, that takes advantage of the SIMD architecture of those chips.
which may apply quite often, but not in each and every case...
anyway, I'd rather prefer the box to be released first and then start speculating and asking for new stuff
cheers, Tom

synth which is using something very complex such as morphing resynthesis will be a resource hog no matter how well programmed it is.mpodrug wrote:You are joking right? i cant think of any other platform which has not had someone come along and say "now we should be able to do this which we couldnt before" and bring it to its knees

i dont know why scope will be different.
Re: Re:
For some reason Jimmy came to mind as I read this......give him two weeks with Xite1, and this will be reality...Neutron wrote:mpodrug wrote:

Booster ?
I was hoping to open the 1U and pull out a couple of DSP's I won't need and resell them.
I have had a record year in sale and purchases, some recuperation theories are being studied.
