Connecting 2 pulsar cards

Post by dabu »

Hi,

I need some information here :) .

I'm planning to connect another Creamware Project card ( 6dsps). The one I currently have still uses 4.0 ver. The new one i'm planning to get has the 4.5 ver. So my question is if i install the 4.5 ver first and the add the other card (4.0), will they be compatible? Never installed 2 cards before. :P

Thanks a lot.

The cards are always compatible. The difference is only in the fact that being the card which has registered to itself the 4.5 upgrade now present in your system, you will be able to use the new plugins that are basically the difference with ver. 4.0.

For example if you try to load the new stuff that is in version 4.5 without having the new card installed, you would be prompted with a message asking you for the card to register the keys to. Obviously you haven't installed it yet, so the load would fail. But when your second card will be installed, the new keys that you have been provided with 4.5 for the new card will work and you will be able to run them.

In Scope system the plugins and the software are registered to the single cards which act as a sort of "dongle" to enable them. As long as a card with a certain key is present in the system, you will be able to load the plugin. You could have different keys spread to different cards, but as long as these are present you can load all the plugins.

Only way to change is transfer unique plugins to 4.5 card.
Stardust, this might sound confusing. If he has both cards in the system and this is what he said he will do, he can use whatever plugin is registered with any one of his cards. A card which enables a plugin will enable it on any system in which that card is present. From what you say it seems that you make the hypothesis of swapping one card for the other, which is not the case here., or that you are not aware of how does it work, which I don't think it's possible. :)

My point was that 4.0 and 4.5 have different keys for the same plugins.

I have Installed 4.5 in one of my systems without purchasing it because I already had some those plugins obtained for beta testing with a key that has been working on 3.1, 4.0 and now on 4.5 too......all my 4.0 keys work with 4.5 too. So I can't confirm that, unless I'm missing something that I can't imagine. :)
