actually it all seems the same as 4.0 - mixer, modular... beside (of course) the new FXs.
gizzmo promises to be a beast!
i'm not sure i will like the white background... i'm happy with the one existing and i don't like bright backgrounds...

I bet the background color will be customizable in some menu, don't you think?

Oh yeah, and the STM 2448 looks the same indeed. I hope they fixed some bugs in there. Hopefully we don't have to wait another 7 years for that
Some true stereo aux sends would have been nice too

which white background?
the one i can see is darker GREY. maybe me or you have faulty eyes....
But true it should be customizable through a setting.

No, this picture on the SC site is still the old prototype. The rendered image of the new XITE-1 does show an input gain potmeter at the lower right side of each mic socket, if I'm seeing it correctly. And if I remember right, Ralf told us that phantom power is switchable through the software.

Here's hoping (for my application, that would be awesome).
Edit: in tandem with the front panel controls of course.

I had forgotten about the front pannel gain on the rendering. I wouldn't put money on it being digitally controlled anymore.

Well, I for one like the new look of the software. The gray tones more closely match both Windoze Vista and Mac OS X, compared to the old blue interface that looked like Windows XP. Also I'm very pleased to see that the eyesore green olive logo is gone.
Waiting with anticipation,
Shayne

Yeah goombye green olive
I'll just be thankful if they fixed the few remaining bugs that we've been living with for the past 5 years or so. Anything else is just icing on the cake at this point.
Ya know - you gotta give these guys credit. I can't think of a single piece of software (and PC-based hardware) that has stood the test of time so well.
