Re: a few more details
Ralf, for the third time.
Will the software for X-CITE include any new automation or will it contain only the present 119 CC's system?
An answer would be appreciated.

ANOTHER IMPORTANT QUESTION...
will there be a standalone mode?
Just connect a Midi-Keyboard and play some synths - for live performance!!!
Without a host computer??
THANKS

Re: ANOTHER IMPORTANT QUESTION...
That would have been great, but eh then how do you manage to select and load a project ? The only trick I would think about would be to have some Xite - local memory to save 128 project you would be able to call back with program change MIDI message as you do not have any LCD screen or buton on the device for local navigation.rhythmaster wrote:will there be a standalone mode?

But maybe this could be achieved using a rack-PC providing an express-card port to connect to the Xite, then it could be seen as an extension of the Xite:
=> on the road you would have limited features with a few keys and a small 2 lines LCD for simple operations.
=> in studio or at home, you plug a keyboard & mouse, a display and you gain access to the full featured routing windows (just like a sort of docking station).
Another request maybe already fullfilled:
- just had poly AT MIDI message to extend the range of control message available
- update the Modular MRC with a new version providing more than the current 16 control ... for example 56 linear control + 20 switch organized as 7 rows of pot with 2 rows of 8 switches in the middle and 4 additional set at the right hand (funny it is just the organization of my favorite BCR 2000 controller !!! )
My 2 cents

Re: ANOTHER IMPORTANT QUESTION...
We've already been all through that. All the devices for Scope have some Async modules that run on the host CPU, as well as other scripts. Noah, as you may recall, could be run standalone, and to do that all the plugins had to be rewritten to run entirely on the DSPs. It was costly, time consuming, and made CW go bankrupt the first time. It's best to stick to what works.rhythmaster wrote:will there be a standalone mode?

Re: ANOTHER IMPORTANT QUESTION...
Thanks. I understand. But probably for future upgrades the one or other plugin may run in standalone mode (minimax yo yo).Shayne White wrote:

Re: ANOTHER IMPORTANT QUESTION...
Yes. I mean just like Plugiator. The soundsetup is done at home with your host. e.g. 128 Presets (throughout all the synths). And with a Midi-keyboard you send a program change and that's it. Also with some CC for realtime sound-tweaking.HUROLURA wrote:

i seriously doubt that sonic core will sell alot of these boxes..(xite1) BUT!
IF they make a mixed xtc and sfp mode i can see them selling alot of these boxes! Most people who havent used the soniccore stuff are used to integrated plugins withing their host, and lets face it; when we are used to a certain workflow, it will take alot to go to another setup.
But with mixed xtc and sfp mode you get all the plugins integrated into your host AND the very hearth of scope: flexible routing! I can see alot of people buying stuff like that, since it is nowhere to be found elsewhere.
so my question for ralf is: will there be mixed sfp and XTC mode?

I think kind of this "mixed" mode already exists now with SCOPE 4.5the19thbear wrote:i seriously doubt that sonic core will sell alot of these boxes..(xite1) BUT!

You can configure your XTC-Routing in the XTCProject as you like. Then open your host-software and you have the routing (at least in Cubase) - all the INs and OUTs.
The other thing is if you want to change the SCOPE-routing from minute to minute within your host. This would be the new thing.

I never thought XTC was useful. It introduces latency, and since I do almost all my work with realtime synths, I would always stick to standard Scope mode anyway.
...And I never saw the point of PowerCore or UAD-1 either!!

thats exactly what i'm saying
people who use scope, will continue to use scope the sfp way, just like you! but people who are used to use their host to control plugins, will not switch to scope because they have to think in a whole new way..
so if you could mix both worlds, that would be great!
and i'm sure it can be done! we have almost done this ourselves with using mixers in xtc mode etc..
the dream come true would be: the normal sfp window with a section called "xtc" or something like that, here you should be able to route back and forth, and then the normal sfp stuff and the your host with xtc plugins... well something along those line would make me happy!
well i'll stop my talk here, and hope for ralf to answer!
