indeed VDAT Doc is part of the regular SFP Doc
but unless you haven't had a close (and careful) look at the original Adat documentation by Alesis (it's on their site) you won't really figure out what this is all about
of course you can save a bunch of tracks almost instantaneously, but when it comes to tape handling, loading - unloading, editing, synch to sequencer and such stuff your DAW experience will most likely fool you.
this is a real tape-recorder, and it acts as such...
