Asio problem, is normal or not?

Post by andi_planetz »

Hello everyone,

when i route one of my tracks of the ableton live to an asio channel for get the audio into scope, it works fine when i use the asio 24 bit source, i get a stereo signal into scope and then i can link it into the mixer, all is ok...
But when i use the asio 32 source 64 i only can get a mono signal !...

I've checked to choose the correct channel in ableton and scope but nothing, the simply change from asio 24 bit source to asio 32 source 64 stops working for me....

Can you help me please??

Thanks a lot!

you can connect and reconnect all you want, anytime, but if you change the number of asio channels, or if you change the asio type, you must close the sequencer FIRST, and then reopen the sequencer after. the same is true about the sequencer midi source and destination modules.

worth a try.
maybe just reinstall over the top of the old install first....

that won't solve the problem but: you don't need to close ableton, you can deactivate/activate the driver by clicking on the cpu-load.

i think that ableton suports 32 bits but definitely i can't use asio 32 source 64, i get the audio in mono....then i have to use asio 24 bit source, nothing matters...maybe :-?

reinstall doesn't work...

thanks

it probably supports 32bit floating point. the asio2 32 is 32bit fixed point....

one point that can trip one up that's easily missed is that the asio source and dest modules must match!

what version of Live are you using? Works fine with Live 7 at least.
