I get some really nice stuff going in Scope delays, and can sync the tightness w/ my ears.
It locks in for some really nice rhythms.
For instance Pizzacatto type envelopes on synths using simple melodies allow the delay effects to carry out nice melodic lines. And by using your ear you can have them locked tight, or just a hair off for real thick soundscapes.
But I thought I would use the world of technology, out of laziness I suppose, so I quantized the melodies according to the tempo ( B.P.M. ) and noticed that my hardware sequencers P.P.Q. was not syncing up, and really sounded as though the BPM's are not correct? Is it because the delays are not as perfect as we think. This happens in all delays I tried.
I am not dissapointed at all, as I will play these live anyway, but is this a case where the ears actually rule, and not all of this techno babble talk?
When I record, I will not use the sequencer anyway, I will base my rhythm around the delay line, and add the percussion / drums by ear as well.
I am not after perfection of time anyway, as I think it starts sounding too unnatural.
Is this a slight imperfection in the PPQ of the QY700, or are our delays in Scope where the imperfections reside?
