comp and irq problem

Did a fresh install and after a while some simple programs like paint and defrag dont even open , comp schut down don’t work and I have to pusch the power button and hold it down a few seconds
Some specs…

intel dg965ry
Memory 2048 Mb DDR2-800
Intel core 2 Duo E6700 Boxed
2 Harddisk Maxtor 160 gb sata 7200 / 8 Mb
3 x PCI 3 cards 2x scope home and 1 pulsar total 12 dsp’s
windows xp prof.
IRQ are on IRQS 21 and 22 alone, which is good, but the third card has come to IRQ 18 shared with "ICH8 Family PCI Express Root Port 3".
I wonder how I can change the irq of my cards,3 cards and 3 pci slots ??

Anny sugestions ??

hmmm, i don't think that the pci express root port should make any troubles, but you can try disabling it in the device manager, since it's port#3 and you are unlikely to be using it...

if paint and defrag wont even work then there is a major problem. try reinstalling, see if the same or different things dont work. probably a bad hard drive(my guess)

did once more a fresh install, disabled all things that shared the irq of my cards , installed everything else and no more problems. ( exept hanging midinotes ( noah synth) in my sequenser sx 3 when i rec in a loop of about 4 measures what i do a lot for creating grooves ) thanks for the advice
