SCOPE plug-ins from China NOT compatible

Post by Ralf »

For present reason: We have to point out that some regular SCOPE plug-ins are currently offered by a company from China. These will NOT be compatible with SONIC CORE PLATFORM 5! We are not responsible for this offer and we are checking legal aspects and consequences.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I could imagine there should no harm being done by registering the scope plugin bundle to a card that has already the mentioned plugins licensed to it, if the buyer is only after the bundled plugins for the plugiator hardware (which are supposed to be the work of the chinese company in question, so they may be rightfully allowed to distribute it).
what do you think?

btw, why using that diffuse description "a company from China"?
there are not that many companies around making such offers, so you could as well properly address the offer made here...

-greetings, markus-

ps. giving the users the opportunity of either staying with sfp <4.5 or having most of the offered plugins anyway is just a fair move from sc, and thus I second hifi's opinion.
making users willing to upgrade to 4.5 or higher a time limited offer to aquire the plugins missing (compared with the chinese bundle) to special conditions could be even an encouraging counter offer :D

I'm sorry, but my karma just ran over your dogma.

Please quit all the struggles and work together with this technology. Please TOGETHER. Togethers perhaps that the Plugiator and the Cards are compatible somehow and Plugiator can be integrated in the Sonic Core Platform.

So all can benefit, the manufacturers and we, the users.

Give us SONIC CORE PLATFORM 5.0 PLEASE :-)

I won't comment this weird strategy from use audio as marketing and trade are sometimes mysterious ... thanks for this clear anouncement Ralf ....

I just love my scope system so I just want to feed my DSP with a good scope 5 so too bad for use audio .... My samplitude 10 + scope 4.5 is just a killer system ! :D

"Please SC, InDSP and UA talk to each other and find a cooperative mode to bring this thing forward. "

That would be best, yeah! I have a bad feeling with those two companies developing completely independent. It's not the best way to get the best out of the scope-technology!
... but sadly this seems to be a personal affair to me ...

It is "easy" to understand that Holger D., as a former Creamware developper, has different purposes and means than those of Franck H., who is more a "businessman" (if i remember well ..).

I think it is just hard to combine both companies as they were created after a "split" (otherwise, they would have created another company together ...).

After all, they just share a certain technology, on which Holger worked hard (as a developper) .... I trust Holger and SonicCore because they own scope technology but they also know it very well  ....

Scope 5 is drawing near ! ................. :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

I doubt if Protools is any better or offers more, a Midi/audio sequencer for Scope is out of order anyway, as resources for such a project lack and DSP isn't suitable to it.

Btw, I'm glad SC took a clear (power)position in the current development.
It shows they go for it and are ready to fight for their own case...which gives me a nice warm feeling :-D
At least Frank Hund sees his wish fulfilled...there's real competition now ;-)
Version 5 will solve the whole issue for good anyway, so I think SC got only stronger by the whole thing.

It's strange tho, if you think about it.
It was predictable that SC, in case of emergency, could implement new keys for the announced new platform version, at least inDSP should have realized it.
It is naive to think SC wouldn't protest, even we as simple forum members were immediately alarmed.

The good thing is, both parties are now (with version 5) in equal competition position, from here on it will be easier to survey certain cooperation to enforce each one's activity.

When China can make a toy free of poison, or a pair of pants that last after a couple of washes, I might pay attention to sonething they build.

With Scope cards and plugs I only buy from Germany, or Ralf........That's it.

My DAWg's hunt just fine w/o Scope 5.

I'll wait for Scope 6.0 and Linux support.
