Has anyone gotten around the 768 Meg Ram limit in Win98? My MB can take it, and I'd like more memory for samples. Microsoft has an article on it, and suggested:
To work around this issue, add the following line to the [386enh] section of the System.ini file:
MaxPhysPage=30000
The MoBo can handle up to 8Gig!(Serverset III Chipset) The system boots up fine, but Win98 says "not enough memory to run windows". I've checked the Microsoft website, and it's a known issue..."768Meg ram limit in Win98". That's why I tried their fix. Any ideas?
Mo,
Check out the Asus mobo with the same Serverset III chipset. The only difference between the various versions is the total RAM capacity. Supermicro makes some also.
Yes it has AGP and 64 bit PCI. The Pulsar can't take advantage of the PCI64, unfortunately. What is VERY cool, however, is that it has 2 independent PCI busses. The SCSI 160 is on one buss, and the PCI cards are on another. That helps the bottleneck when recording digital audio.
