Good luck!

For whatever reason (and I'm pretty sure it's a good one...) they're not being very forthcoming with info.

It could be that a future announcement would make less of an impact if dribs and drabs of info came out before whatever date they have in mind for whatever announcement they might make. This is my belief, anyway.

But yes, I'd like to know too!

Cheers,

Chris

To be honest I don't understand the rave about it.

Expect Vista support and nothing more - It's essential for the commercial survival of the platform - nothing less nothing more.

it would put me in a frustrated position actually.
The cards I have can't be used anyway, and the costs for a 2mac studio system are made.

It'd be too late now for me, but it would be a good thing in general of course :-)

it would have to come with the option for a SC branded PCIe expansion system with 3 slots (and enough room for attaching STDM connectors without having to fix the case closed with gaffa :D)

rub it in :-D
gaffa is terrible, I use isolation tape for those purposes :-)
bandwidth is too meager for 3 cards in a ext. box they say...

doesn't it conflict with the proper apple case design, or did you get tape in matching colours (at a special accessories price directly from apple)? :D

3 cards in ext box connected to PCI-e would be a great product if it was fully tested by sonic, had nice quiet cooling etc.

PCIe would have plenty of bandwidth.

there was someone here who mentioned good Magma box behaviour for one card, but he doubted it for three cards, or noticed it, not sure :-)

Wish it's you who has right tho :-)

Unix System V, commonly abbreviated SysV and rarely called System 5, was one of the versions of the Unix operating system. It was originally developed by AT&T and first released in 1983. Four major versions of System V were released, termed Releases 1, 2, 3 and 4. System V Release 4, or SVR4, was the most successful version, and the source of several common Unix features, such as "SysV init scripts" (/etc/init.d), used to control system startup and shutdown. The system also forms the basis of the System V Interface Definition (SVID), a standard defining how System V systems should work.

You can find more about System 5 on:

hehe, I already thought something like that :-)
'system V'...enough to trigger you.
Mac System 7 is also known for it's own, the 'band' System 7 is called after it.
So take care...the danger of a trap is on every corner :-D
