Scope family board size/length ?

Scope family board size/length ?

Just a stupid question (stupid until you have to fit one of those board in a PC with its constraints): what are the lenght of the different Scope familly board (in increasing order I guess) ?

1 ) Scope Luna/Home (3 DSP) ? ~19 cm

2 ) Pulsar I SRB (4 DSP) ?

3 ) Pulsar I (4 DSP) ? ~22.5 cm

4) Pulsar II / Scope Project (6 DSP) ? 25,7cm

5) Scope Professionnal (14/15 DSP) : 31.2 cm/ ~33cm

This would help me to decide how to expand my setup without being forced to change my PC...

This gives me an idea about the Home and Pro cards but what about the others ?

Thanks Stardust ...

I just miss the Pulsar I SRB size which appears to be shorter than the Pulsar I (from some pictures I have seen on the web). Maybe the Scope home size ?

I edited my first post so that the informations already found would be available for anybody looking for this kind of info later ...

Another BTW - while I was at Sonic Core last month, I used their Magma 2 PCI expansion box with my laptop to work on my copy of Scope DP. The card I used was a 6 dsp Pulsar II card, as the bigger Scope board was just a little bit too long, it seemed. (I tried loading the Scope SDK, but it wouldn't work with the Pulsar II card.)
However, when I got back home, I purchased a brand new Magma 2 PCI from eBay (got a great deal - $255!!). When I tried my 14-chip Expander board (Scope board without the Audio I/O daughter card), it fit perfectly! I managed to get my other Pulsar I board in there as well, connected to the bigger board. 18 DSPs all running on my laptop - great to finally have a roadable system for developing!

does this type of thing cause any asio latency or problems loading at all? it seems like a good way to get away from worrying about motherboards and stuff.

I don't know, because I don't use asio, and I'm not loading/unloading lots of projects and so on...I'm just working in a very simplified setup.

no, a magma doesn't necessarily make more latency, but it does affect the available pci bandwidth to some extent, certainly not beyond usefulness....

while you mention it... has anybody tried a magma with the pci-e x1 card yet? not that I don't expect it to works, but maybe using the pci-e bus has some more positive effect on the bandwith... ?!
I would serve as an early adopter, but the card is quite expensive, and I definitely would have to do an inquiry to magma before buying whether my chassis is supposed to work with it or not... :)

that's been the theory, i thought someone had tried a pci-e adaptor with decent results...maybe not...
