Physcedelic Gig.

Post by dawman »

Well my first gig w/ the Psychedelic's is a doozy.

Some rich hippie who owns a 200 year old plantation, and grows Carolina Gold Rice, has contracted the band for 2 nights for 10,000 USD.

This was to be expected, but I gotta go to South Carolina ?? WTF. I must be crazy. It is great weather down there until December, but there are nothing but snakes, alligators, herrin, and egrets. The stage is a gigantic Gazebo from the Civil War days or something.

Well I did want to do fewer gigs and said I was willing to travel.

6 weeks of me bustin' their balls at rehersal paid off. The band is tight, and it is alot of fun playing trippy music from those days.

The agent specializes in high paying bookings for tribute bands, so off we go. Let's hope we get a little closer to home next time.

This agent has Rod Stewart, Eagles, Led Zeppilin, and several othe Tributes he books regularly. These guys get flown around like the stars they immatate, and get 10,000 USD per night, all ammenities.

They are good though at what they are immatating.

I saw the Ozzy Ozbourne tribute one night here in LV at the Adult Film Star convention, my favorite big tittie get together, and the singer started stumbling around during the guitar solo, and fell into the sidefills !! I was watching in amazement as the road crew came out and were checking his pulse, etc. They then held his head up forced some pills down his throat and shook him a little, he suddenly woke up, leaned over and snorted some fake lines of coke off of a mirror or something, then jumped back up and started jamming again w/ the players. I laughed my fuckin' ass off, as I fell for the stunt and actually believed the guy was in trouble. That's Vegas baby, and they got me w/ the hook, line, and sinker.

That was a very fun night.

Anyway I shall bring some pics back of me jammin' with wildlife that inhabits this ancient plantation.

I think it must be a bit strange playing in front of a casino ;)

There are no casinos there my friends, it's the actual swamp in SoCarolina.

Alligators actually can up out out of the water !! The Gazebo is only 30 or 40 feet away.

If I make it back alive, I will be happy as the comissions and flights will be taken from the gross, and that leaves us 600 USD per member, per night.
That is the only reason I am going.

I did outdoor concerts all over the midwest, New England and the South. And I can assure you, that once those 1000 watt spotlight 's hit the stage the 2 and 3 inch Kamikazee Grasshoppers start zeroing in from a hundred yards out and you can actually see them flying right towards your illiminated skin. All the bug repellant in the world has no effect on flying insects that large and fast.

This will definately be chalked up in one of the most interesting gigs I've ever done. If they only had the LSD, and Marijuana from back then, it would be a true to form affair.

there are lots of cities where there's snow and lots where there's never snow....

most is probably an exaggeration, but much isn't...

I see snow every year in Tahoe, and also the mountains outside of Las Vegas, especially Mt.Chaleston. This place is crazy here. 120 degrees farenheit, then down to 40 degrees in the winter. With Tahoe being 100 degrees, and down to 20-30 degrees in the winter.

One third of USA gets snow every year. Stardust just happened to hit lower bottom of the upper third. :-?

Where I'm going it will be 100% humidity, and 80 degrees in the day, going down to the 60's at night. Not bad, but there had better be some trim there. It seems like when I leave Las Vegas or Tahoe, everybody's much fatter. In Atlantic City, I played for an audience filled with Rosie O'Donnell's !! Some of them bitches could scare a hungry Bulldog off the back of a meat truck.

I am told that wild bores frequent these swamps,....great. More scarry shit to worry about. I could see it now,.......Scope4live killed by a wild 1500 pound Boar.

Had to share this.

I have considered paying for a road crew, what about this fine lass.

I couldn't get a better pose than this, but this girl has the body of a Playboy Bunny, and the face of a supermodel.

She handles my equipment w/ such poise.

I saved 200 USD by shipping this insured to the host down in SoCarolina.

Looks like a fun weekend.

Too bad I couldn't take her w/ me. :D :

Brotha' Man Bingo TC,

Not at all, she straps them puppies in real tight.

It was a bad angle shot 4 sure.

Her face is extremely arrtractive, and you could crack an egg on her butt.

Brotha' Man Stardust,

You're 100% correct, I am in Heaven here in LV. It's amazing there are so many fine creatures in this town waiting for their acting positions, singing, dancing, Playboy Bunny auditions, Legal prostitution brothel openings, that one could go to a 6.00 USD per hour 7-11 store and see stunning beauties delivering bread, running the cash register, etc.

This town will keep you young 4 sure.

But I seek out fine trim wherever I go, If I was in Alaska, I'd be bustin' Eskimo trim. Just like Steven Seagal did in that movie. And I don't need no fancy ass Kit Carson buckskin scout jacket, just my Scope DAW. I'd get the Kodiak bears and King Salmon dancing to the synths 4 sho'.

As long as nobody here objects, I will take some great pics from the Playboy Club gig next month. The showrooms do not allow me to use my camera, a bunch of faggotts !! They claim each show has valuable Top Secret tricks, yeah especially the way the FOH guys do one sound check and lock up the EQ's ?? I really hate those jobs anymore. Everything is so jive, but the girls and rooms are definately the fringe benefits. Dayyaammnn.

OMG,
I just missed a Kodak moment.

My neighborhood Hoagie, Philly Steak, Pizza place is owned by a Bulgarian chap who loves to deliver the food himself. This guy has great food. But he often would come by my local rehearsals here, and come in and hang with us. He's like 60 years old and is a music lover for sure. He has been bustin' my balls about playing for him and recording while he sings, and I always politely shine him on, as I don't know Bulgarian Folk songs very well. But it turned out that his ancestry was from Thrace, circa 1500 B.C. and came from a family of singing poets. He was actually singing a long ( yawn.yawn ) song for us as I played my sampled accordians about the battle of Troy ?? I was impressed when Iearned from him that this song had been sang for centuries from generation to generation, remarkable. So I agreed sometime in November to give him a free recording in exchange for continued excellent food for my special auditions. I often have people singing and recording over here, but never thought I would have some old 60 year old guy singing songs of Hector and Achilles in my living room !! At any rate we are going over our flights and last minute details before we fly so I called him for food, and he sent over his awesome looking daughter in a big Mercedes sedan w/ the food.

Jesus, Joeseph, Mary, this broad was HOT !! I know I am sick but if you guys were here, I am sure you would feel the same way. I was expecting him to bring his daughter in Novemeber to drop him off or something, hell he is trying to marry her off !! That's cool w/ me. I was standing there in awe as she handed out the food, and our singer was kicking her boyfriend in the shin for watching her bend over. Damn, I am going to burn in hell, but until then I shall deeply delve into all of Las Vegas's treasures.

Anytime one of you guys wants to visit, you are more than welcome. This place just has to be seen to be believed.

Damn, My balls are still smokin" !!!

My work has paid off. We just nailed about 6 high paying gigs in the Bay Area and Tahoe.

The band sounds tight, the girls voice just about made these old hippies cry, as they were on Haight and Ashbury back in the day.

I have never seen such genuine praise to a singer from so many people before. She is so good I even praise her, and I have little respect for most singers.

Looks like I will be Psychedelic for the next couple of years.

We have decided to do some more Grateful Dead, as that stuff and the Janis / Doors stuff was the music that got 'em going.

I never did covers and enjoyed them so much. It helps when it sounds right.
