Hi, and wellcome :-)

I think that you will love the flexibility of the system and the quality of the devices.
With 6 DSP you can expect to mix a 10 (mono) tracks song with few effects (reverb a couple of chorus, phaser some delay and equalizers)
You can do mastering as well with a separate project and load a couple of equalizers, a psico-acoustic equalizer, a big reverb, a multiband compressor, and some more effects in the same chain.

:-)
Welcome to the dawning of a new empire

welcome Steeve ! Yes your board will give you a very good quality for sure. Of course you will have to focus on what you really need (you will soon buy another board to add more dsp though :D ). As you can gather several boards, just consider your purchase is a (first) investment. It is up to you to get the plugins YOU really need... There are some good free ones (have a look at this section on planetz) but you will find many good synth and effects. Depending on your scope version, an upgrade to scope 4.5 can be worth it as you will get many good devices in one go... Just ask people here and thay will give their opinion about the plugins available... :D

Have fun !!!!!!

yes, I do intend to upgrade to 4.5, once I get the license name transfer sorted out with Creamware (do you think that will be necessary ?) and I might get a few new plugs while I am at it. As for more DSP cards, well I will leave that for the moment, since the internals of my computer are packed solid, with every PCI slot currently full (you can see from THISpicture!). But I might be able to free up a slot if I decide to sell my Edirol 2496, which has given me many years of exceptional service.

Here's an interesting question, is there somthing like SynthEditfor the Scope Platform ??

I thought that this was common knowledge...?? It seems to be mentioned in every second post (well maybe that's an exaggeration! :) )

take a look at THIS thread and there is some explanation on how to do it, you can also get other non-xtc plugins to work in xtc mode like this aswell...... Like MiniMax.....

Do yourself a favour and spend some time going through the old posts here, there is so much information on configuring and using these things that you will be blown away.....!
