poabf is true to most formalisms of the original, but the aural characteristics between both modular versions are significant enough to make doing dead on impersonations not very possible.
some things to note in the patch.
it uses 2 forms of fm, fedback into the signal chain.
both oscillators freq outputs are fed into pitch modifier input mods, which go to adjacent oscillator freq inputs (the pitch modifiers are fed a freq out from the mvc). these signals are on switches to enable turning on and off easily. the pitch mod inputs are of the -+ exponential types. more flexible, maybe, than the linear inputs. the linear input on oscillator ones freq mod is modulatable by aftertouch. oscillator 2 is fed by a signal coming out of the multi lfo, and into an attenuator (for subtle pitch mod tweaking).
filter fm comes from a seperate mix of the oscillators post filter. this mixer feeds a pitch quanitizer module to smooth out the nasties you get when fming in this manner.
every mod input is fed by some mod source, this is pretty routine. the original patch didn't have a whole lot of mod routings, not that this makes a patch bad. restraint is a worthy practice....
there is more gain in this patch for distorting, gurgling and clipping than the original.
a sub-octave sine oscillator is used to fatten up overdriven sounds or as a simple sound source (mixes well with scratch clangy sounds).
there is a short readme (no more super long descriptions), a screenshot of the patch. i could actually fit the entire patch on my screen for the most part, and a demo of some of some presets, used in short sequences and whatnot.
feedback is appreciated. i have another patch i'll be posting in the near future. i also have some patches for my dis+taste patch i'll post sometimei soon. this new patch is of an additive type using only sine oscillators. with some interesting things i've discovered, how about portamento per oscillator, which smooths out pitch tweaks as well as mono key gliding, rate selectable per oscillator sliding up and down? or how about one touch drone making.....one keystrike on, one for off...its odd and doesn't make any sense for working, but it does.
i feel like mad scientist playing with the modular....so much fun!
