Likewise.

darkrezin wrote: I strongly advise you to educate yourself (and I don't just mean what your government decides it's safe for you to know) because you really make yourself look like an idiot. Note that I'm not saying you are an idiot, but you sure are doing a great job convincing everyone that you are one.
Insulting me, again, shows lack of character and integrity.

Are you implying that I try to distort the meaning of what was said?
No, I'm saying that at this point people stop discussing really, the conversation stops communicating, all answers get cathegoric, and noone listens anymore with a free mind.
The focussing on the details (loose sentenses) is always symbolic for the loss of the overview :-)

edit: ah, there's a word for it: micro-quoting...
thanks Stardust

I apologize if I insulted personally anyone. Now I am even more convinced that religion poisons everything. Shall we delete our posts now or leave this whopper of a thread for posterity?

Let me explain to you what having no relation to real life means: Someone who thinks there is an imaginary spirit in the sky watching over him.

The ironic part is when something bad happens, it's the will of the imaginary friend. Is he watching over you or not? You can't have it both ways. If he *is* watching you then why do bad things still happen? It is pointless to have an omnipotent god when he doesn't do anything.

And... you guys know it.

You make my point quite eloquently. Religion is hogwash. I think one of the most basic premises of most religions is a belief in god, and all the miracles are a part of that. It is clear in the bible that one is not to question god. That is why they call it "faith".

why should an omnipotent god do anything that you like? if such a god is also omniscient, then there's probably some info in there somewhere that you have no idea about. come back when you can see the whole picture. the universe doesn't work according to what's convienient for you. perhaps there are worse things that can happen.... :)

religion have never ruined anything. communication did.

if we all just shut the fuck up, and dont ever talk to eachother, we'll all live peacefully.

you cant have a god which is both omnipotent and onmiscient.

The two dont jive.... its illogical

seriously, if god knows everything then he knows what he will do next, therefore he is not omnipotent.... he is a slave to is omniscience.
however if he can do anything at anytime, then he cant possibly know everything, cos anything might change at any time. In accordance with his will. So his omnipotence destroys his omniscience.

Anything else is illogical.
