Baywatch goes Vegas

Post by dawman »

I have a buddy who is doing the comedy show here in Vegas who keeps telling me set up my rig in a magic show to utilise my synth arsenal. As they rely on lot's of FX, and Ambient style music to give the appearance of being fresh and new. I really do think this is a wise move, as the money is good and I am finding it hard to put together a good fusion band, and grow weary of relying on other players that can't afford to miss a month or so of work to play in a quality group. They would rather play cover tunes for low pay in the lounges than do pre production 4 a quality show. As usual, the same guys will call me looking 4 work later.

We now have David Hasselhoff, Carmen Electra, and Pamela Lee all working within blocks of each other in showrooms here. Since more and more famous celebs move here every month, the future looks bright.

I would die to have Pamela Lee in a dressing room near mine.

I need some suggestions from fellow synth nuts on artists I could listen to for fresh ideas where ambient / synth work is prevalent.

Thanks In Advance,

ya know, I've been really drunk, but usually that doesn't coincide with a cheeseburger.. down on the floor... was he really "just" drunk? Or was that's what happens when you rely too much on your car's intelligence.

This was here in Vegas on the floor of his hotel suite at the Paris Hotel and Casino, where he does the show the " Producers ".

The divorce is probably killing him inside.

But I must admit, the real time, unscripted performances done Broadway style, are fantastic. Similar to live gigs where you get one take. Not many people understand how much work this requires to perform like this, Madonna is also very talented like this. I wonder if it's because they write their own music, and are actually accomplished musicians. I can still recall detailed conversations from years ago, so I should thank the studies required, as they help form strong memory usage.

He signed a contract that he is tested for drugs and alcohol on performing nights. I guess he took the gig to clean himself up a little. During my first divorce, I did 2 gigs to bury myself in work. I also did an eight ball of coke and a bottle of jager on my 1 day off. But when I get really trashed, I would only do my immatation of a fire hydrant, or a roaring Lion, depending on if I had the dry heaves or not. I have no regrets, and rather enjoyed myself, as another woman as a replacement doesn't do anything but make you miss what you left, unless it's a cute little prostitute w/ massive chi-chi's.

As Bob Hope Use To Sing,.........................................................................Thanks 4 the mammories, they fit in my mouth quite well,....................................etc.etc.etc.

Which Ambient Artists Should I Listen To,................I cannot go into battle w/o preparation, then I would be called Jimmy Rumsfeld.

Sorry I sidetracked my own topic as usual. It's no wonder it took me a year to discover SpaceF's awesome DXD synth.........Ther ya' go again.

Pamela Anderson ? Yech ! Caressing surgically injected chemicals and scar tissue, while oogling cartoon-sized bags of silicon is not the stuff of erotic fantasy.

Two that have been around for a while but still sell albums:

Underworld (the only electronica that has interesting, evolving song form)
Chemical Brothers (harder-edged stuff)

...wait, you have 60 nightclubs in Vegas. Go to one, watch the dancing body parts, and cop that style.
