JB sent me version 2 which fixed my volume problem. I would store a preset and since some pre's needed volume increases / decreases, they would all re load set at max volumes. Version 2.2 fixed that. But that was last year.
Am I missing something, or is this new? It looks the same to me. And I can't imagine it's sound being better, as it is a great lead axe.
SE-1x, C4T, and ProOne are my 3 lead axes, monophonically speaking that is. The ProOne, and C4T, sound great, and after I add the SE-1x to either for that analog electrical buzz, they sound just like an analog monster should.
Because of the mixture of 2 at a time, I must match the envelopes as closely as possible, but when slightly offsetting the glide / portamento feature, it gets very close to that deadly Oberheim Matrix 12 / XPander sound, where the Oscillators, as well as the synths, have slightly different values in portamento. It is the same as detuning on a synth to make it fatter. To hear these descend, or climb using that technique is exhillerating.
Try This,....take a low DSP synth that sounds goods w/ one voice, i.e. C4t, or ProOne. Just add multiple instances of the same sound w/o detuning, and let your portamento feature have different degrees of amounts, then detune the Oscillators. But adding or mixing other synths work well too. The ultimate though is add an analog to the mix. That Dog definately will hunt.

take a look at John's website. This version has lots of new filters built in.scope4live wrote:Am I missing something, or is this new? It looks the same to me. And I can't imagine it's sound being better, as it is a great lead axe.
I had a customer contact me about buying the old Pro One plug-in I made (for Wine Country) some time ago, and shortly after I sold it to him, he wrote to ask if I could add some highpass and bandpass filters. I asked him did he want 24dB or 12 dB slope filters? He came back with, "yes"....for both! So, I added the filters, including the SSM and Minimoog emulations, plus a new filter select parameter, and sent it off, asking only that he create some new presets using the added filters.
3 days later, he sends, not only a bank of 100 great new presets, but a completed Demo Song showing them off! And I have to tell you, I was very, very impressed!!
You can also note the Invert switch for the filter envelope under the Envelope Amount.
By the way, a number of CW Pro One (or ProTone) owners have contacted me about this, and just to note, this is a different synth - uses a different preset list, and has an extensive arpeggiator/step sequencer section on it (not to mention the many added filters now). I'm still offering the upgrade as a crossgrade to these users, however.
Please check out the demo mp3 that Mika did - I've posted it in the Music section:

cheers,
john

I want it !! I am dialing in all my mixes using ProOne and SE-1x. This is a perfect time. I still use C4T, but it's lack of presets give me only 1 great sound. But SHARC is very busy working on stuff, and I understand. I love all 3 of these synths 4 lead monophonic weapons, as much as my Oberheims, as the 3 sound very different, but cannot exist w/o each other.
BTW John B.,
Since you mentioned the multi-timbral capabilities of the upcoming Solaris, I have had convultions, and epilptic episodes, as my 3PDS disease is once again afflicting me.
I hope you are correct in stating that I will be cured of this disease when Solaris gets powered up for the first time in Las Vegas. I plan on delivering unmercifull beatings to all who listen, and of course the preset rider crowd will be seen slithering out the back door in shame.

how can I prove I'm a ProTone owner to get that (damn cheap) up(/cross)grade?

I'm sorry, but my karma just ran over your dogma.

Supercool, John, man or myth?! How much the crossgrade from the CW version?johnbowen wrote:.. I'm still offering the upgrade as a crossgrade to these users, however.

Thanks in advance.
4PC + Scope 5.0 + no more Xite + 2xScope Pro + 6xPulsarII + 2xLunaII + SDK + a lot of devices (Flexor III & Solaris 4.1 etc.) + Plugiator.
what to press for filter choices
got your email thankx
I See Said The Blindman,
Wow !! Who but John Bowen would give away such upscale upgrades. Everytime I upgrade w/ Windows, Cubase, I regret it as other things seem to change more than I care for, it's difficult telling band members you can't access your content that set. When John upgrades it's all extra gravy on your potatoes. I was going to get it along w/ my Solaris deposit (
) in June. I ain't waitin', cause this is too good as usual.
My SE-1x is getting a facelift upgrade ( $$ ), and now this,.........all I need is preset capabilities on our C4T, and I'll bee set 4 FAT BASTARD MONOPHONIC LEADS.
Thanks For Dropping In From Mt. Olympus,

The new options give this already powerful beast extra sounds, and control.
I decided to add polyphony to it and made a killer Taurus Bass Pedal / Clavinet patch where the lowest notes are " droned ", while doing clav-type rhythms w/ the right hand. It really sounds like a Jaco Synth ( R.I.P.). I really like the sound of a full sustained bottom end while slap bass, and clavish style licks lock in the groove.
I am finding that programming virtual synths has taught me how to make better use of my hardware analog as well.
When I first got CW cards 2 years ago, I said these synths will never replace my hardware analog, but now I say I can't use my hardware analog w/o them, especially ProOne, and C4T.
Thanks For Not Forgetting Us JB,
