Scope & 01v

Post by grappa »

Hi,

Reached the point where I can't tolerate mousing around anymore and need to get some hardware control over mixing.

Have a couple of options:

1. Forget Scope mixing, hook up an 01v or similar and connect to VDAT via ADAT's.
2. Find a control surface that works and control via MIDI. Saw a post about a SAC-2.2 that is supposed to work well and has an SFP profile?

Don't really fancy option 1 as I am stuck with the desks own EQ, dynamics, FX etc and I can't afford much so I ain't going to be buying anything that flash. Concerned about option 2 as I don't want to invest in a lame duck.

Appreciate if anyone could advise.

Regards,

Simon

I have a sac 2.2
it works ok for scope. probably about the best you could hope for at this point.

But I dont think I dig it enough to keep it around. mine will probably show up on ebay in a couple days.

Thanks for the heads up on the SAC - wasn't quite the ringing endorsement I was hoping for considering its about £1000!

Yeah, I think I'd pass on buying any hardware controller for the scope mixer at this point.
They can work ok, but in my opinion not well enough to justify their expense.

If the SFP mixers could use more than one midi channel, or if the mackie protocol were ever implemented, it might be a different story..
