Tools of your trade
Greetings Planet dwellers
I wanted to ask in general what hardware/software in your studio's do you feel has enhanced your use of the Scope platform? Was there anything you added to scope or scope was added to that took your creativity, workflow to new levels?

@stardust - i love the look of the lemur but its quite expensive - i wonder how you have it set up w/ scope?
recently purchased an mpc2000 - using for drum/perucssive sampling (the sampler is quite basic) and all sequencing. my problem w/ most software samplers is that they dont effin sample (i know the sts can sample but that thing was too buggy) - so you have to oen your audio editor, record, trim your samples, then import them into your soft sampler - i hated doing that.
now i can have scope by itself on the screen instead of mousing around b/w vst host/sequencer, sampler etc.
ive only had the mpc about a week or so but im already more productive (not to mention its a very fun machine!)
i also have a nord rack which i will probably sell sometime soon. i love the percussion sets on this thing though, im not really sure why - they have a unique sound - dinky kraftwerk style blips and zaps seem to ooze out. i thnink its good to have some external gear (or native plugins) w/ scope just to add some diferent textures.
my favorite scope stuff right now is the prowave and modular w/ flexor, its not hard to get some crazy sounds out of these.

I decided some time ago to concentrate again on external hardware, and I made my personal choice (Elektron Machinedrum and MonoMachine, had Virus-A already).
Two Luna boxes take care of getting them into the Scope mixer via Z-link, the outputs on them also serve the inputs of the external machines (to use them filters etc.).
I should exchange them for an A16 Ultra, for level equation reasons.
Scope synths are there to fill the gaps or to get different inspiration, and my Absynth, Phatmatic loop slicer and Battery are my VSTi escape, if everything else fails or needs some extra.
Digital SPDIF in/out chains the Lexicon MPX1to the Scope mixer, very nice to have external effects digitally looped that way.
ADAT in/outs and Midi of the cards in my OS9 mac are connected to my OSX mac, through an RME ADAT/Midi interface.
So, you can do what you want/need, the ins and outs of your card(s) tell you the possibilities

I'd say that my midicontroller (Novation ReMoteZero SL) made the biggest impact on my workflow. Getting hands on on all my virtual knobs does make a huge difference in how I explore a synth or effect. Much more than I had expected. I can only recommend people to get a midicontroller if they havn't got one yet.
