and so it did. i had to try a lot, but hey, some effort, i kinda get used to it. i could say: 'nothing's for free', but then i would be wrong. this track became something of an ode to the developers giving us free devices.
this atmosphere is the result of fooling around with free synths and effects and was intended to find my way in the cubase recording environment.

stuff used:
ZS404 > Free MaryJane (what can i say? roll on!!!)
Tubeflute (nice design, very inspiring!) > Dirt (again a nice look)
Analogift (wow!!! the heavy drones come from this excellent device (you say it's only 1% of the original stuff? )) > Nannancer (hardly any result (a bit of hiss), but it added a very nostalgic touch to the screen) > Big MultiTap (ugly as hell, but very nice results)

this was recorded on three tracks in cubase, where i applied several plug ins.

it's quite dark out there.

Nostalgic touch to the screen!

Maybe you could send us the winamp video plugin of your screenshot so we can share in your nostalgia?

Nice and subtle work with abrasive tones. I could see a contemporary dance company doing a choreography on this.
Are we listening?..

well, screenshots, good to mention this. i asked about it in another thread. i just can't seem to find a possibility to do this on a mac (os9.1). people with a pc seem to hand out tons of screenshots, but i want it too!!!

the nannancer gives me this european 50s/60s feel (although i'm only 29), louis de funès comes to my mind. i don't know why, but it makes me feel like when i was 10, watching these french comedy movies on a rainy saturday afternoon

about the choreography: it has crossed my mind several times, maybe not with this song in particular, but i'd certainly like to do stuff like that. (two years ago, i played this kind of music, although 'lighter' on a video art exhibition. nice experience, but rather missed the point, because during my set, they stopped the projections on the main screen. so all eyes directed to just some guys turning knobs of a mixer...(nothing wrong with that, but i expected a nice synergy with the visuals).
