multiple cards
hi, i just installed another 3 dsp card, i now have 2, so or the mathematically gifted this equals 6 dsp..... the only problem is: my synths dont work!!!??? really strange! neither does the modular 2.
i can pass audio through the mixers and add effects, and they are working fine...
here comes the weird part: the whole thing works in xtc mode!!! the synths as well..
i installed the card first, without the stdm cable, and then, after the installation i then put on the stdm on, i then reinstalled scope, because the synths didnt work... but nothing changed,,
any suggestion?=?
thanks!

thanks
sorry, let me explain it a little better: I connect a synth with midi and the out to a scope mixer. i play notes on my midi keyboard, i see the little red led light up on the synth GUI, and look at the mixer meters: NOTHING SHOW UP. there is no output from the synth. this goes for every single synth inc. mod2.
what was the thin mentioned earlier about
" did you config cset.ini"?? i didnt do that! what do i do?
the dsp meter show 6 dsp´s... and i can load tons of more fx now, so they are clearly working!
thank you so much for helping me out!

19thbear,
Glad you got the PowerSampler installed and it's seeing the extra DSP:).
This means the STDM cable is ok.
Hopefully it's something simple.
Some other ideas...
Did you happen to merge the registry keys? If so, this may be causing confusion???
Did you turn on the extra MIDI port settings in your computer's system environment? I imagine so since you are seeing activity on the synths.
In the main master channel in the mixer, maybe try assigning the two boards to the 1-16 and 17-24 channels sequentially (depending on which mixer you are using)?
Otherwise there is an old trick setting in the cset.ini file to add the lines:
[board0]
boardid=1
[board1]
boardid=0
This swaps the 'host' board in your system.
Also check this line:
[Host-Config]
Numboards=2
Board0=Host
Otherwise I may be going overboard, and hopefully it's something really simple with the module settings in your Scope environment.
Are you using synths only, or are you recording into a host software like Cubase?
Hope you get it sorted out!
Good luck,
Greg

thanks
thank you:)
you even offer free online support:)
i´m using the 1632 mixer, and i dont know if i mixed up the registry keys... i dont think this would cause any problems, because even the free synths dont work..
i dont use my new card at all other than for the dsp´s so i dont use the midi/audio in/out...
im only using the synths for testing , im not recording anything yet...
i´ll try the cset.ini trick and let you know how it went.
thanks !!!!!!!!!!!!!

I added the...... numboard= 2 to the cset.ini...
and this is strange.... the synths WORKED!! FOR A WHILE!? i was loading up modular 2, and all of the sudden the sounds started fading away into total distortion ( this is not a part of the sound!) until there was no sound at all, i then tried diefferent synths, and they didnt work.... GUI loads up, midi signal input working, but no output. I thought that it might be a glitch so i restarted scope.... and TADA... excactly the same thing happened! only with a different synth.... fading away with weird noise/distortion....
i then uninstalled scope, rebooted and reinstalled it again. using only my own keys ( not the new keys for the new card) and it didnt even install modular2!! which i have the keys for!
and none of the synths work now... there is no distortion or anything.. just simply no output formt the synth..!!!!
could this be a key problem?? during installation i first clicked my allkey file for the "old" soundcard, then afterwards i clicked the new key... which has sts5000..
did that mess up the whole thing??
so:
i uninstalled and reinstalled the whole thing again, only using my keys, and the same.... no mod2, no synths... but fx work fine!
any suggestions?? they all work in xtc mode!
i´m thinking about reinstalling windows again:( crap..... or just sticking to xtc mode...

cards
Put in the cset.ini what the other poster suggested and not what you have put.
Try to reverse the id numbers 1 and 0 so either card will become master.
Try to high ULLI setting.
Check you cable coonection if it is fine...

I wouldn't put board 2 in the cset.ini, since the board addresses start with 0 (zero).
So, try the cset.ini switch mentioned previously.
What I would try is to first make a backup copy of my main ORIGINAL allkeys file and temporariliy rename the extension to .bak (or whatever).
Then open the keys file for the new board and paste it into the main allkeys file for the first file using wordpad and be careful not to change the overall format (avoid carriage returns, etc.). Then totally shut down the machine and start it up again.
Also check the STDM cable, and if things persist, then perhaps swap the actual physical position of the cards on your motherboard?
I don't know. It's probably something simple. The board worked fine for me

thanks!!!!! i´ll try it, you are a very nice man:)
Can you please suggest how to change card order in my system? I have two Pulsar II and one Luna II. In DSP meter there is:
1/1
1/2
1/3
1/4
1/5
2/1
2/2
2/3
3/1
3/2
3/3
3/4
3/5
3/6
I need to change order to have two Pulsar II like first and second card. Can someone explain scet.ini configuration for this?
Thanks.

are you using the right ports? you could be mixing up the i/o of the two cards....
if all else fails, back up any personal data(projects presets, device folders etc.) and uninstall scope. take out both cards, and restart the computer. reinstall both cards and connect with s/tdm cable. rreinstall driver and scope. replace any backed up files. restart. should work, no must work properly....

thank you! i did the "reverse order of cards" trick, in the cset.ini ( look in the earlier posts) that seemed to do the job! but i lost all my xtc synths and some of the xtc plugins... but i guess i have to fiddle around with the different settings for xtc mode... scopevst.cfg etc... i hate it, but i love it when it works!
thanks for helping me out!
Now i just have to get xtc mode to work properly again. I really hope this feature will be optimized in the new versions of scope!
thanks again.
thanks for helping me out!

thanks again.
Not to discourage anyone from using XTC mode or anything, but why not use Scope in its native mode? I prefer the native mode over XTC simply because of all the flexibility it allows you in Scope software. Also, hasn't CreamWare pretty much dropped any further development of XTC? I know switching windows back and forth can be a bit of pain but I do believe there are some other technical advantages of using Scope in its native mode...I think there are some posts relating to this topic in the forum.
Anyway, good luck!

well
well.. i guess i like to work in cubase only.. eays workflow..
i like to be able to automate the faders and pans and fx... thats my main thing.
I like an "organic" mix, where the faders move all the time.
But I am defenitely thinking about doing everything outside cubase. More flexibility, but on the other hand, more phase problems as well..
But my main problem is automation of fx and tracks..
How do you you do that, kyunghwee, from within scope in native mode? because i have the bcf2000, and i can´t get a proper setup. I can´t use the flexible "write/read" automation, in cubase with the scope mixer, and i cant "draw" the volume lines, and then controll the scope mixer... have you ever done that?
If its not possible to do that, then im staying in xtc mode..
If you have the answer, I would LOVE to hear it! you can send me a personal mail, so we don´t hijack this post and turn it into something else.
THANKS!!!
