Q Modulation?

what practical aplications can you think of for resonance modulation within modular patches?

Hi Faxi

Some sounds have a cool high resonance on lower notes but audibility of the higher pitches suffers a lot with high resonance or in some case it's too harsh, I find it useful to modulate it with inverse keyfollow.

I also like it controlled by aftertouch, it can be cool in a distorted solo sound to push some feedback like resonance sound with after touch, with a bit of lfo modulation of pitch....

Just 2 ideas.

just an idea,
take 2 filters, set them up in stereo and use something like cosine lfo to modulate resonance on them
another idea, in a bass patch use filter envelope to either increase or decrease resonance as filter cutoff lowers.

what is the function of the cosine?
isnt it just like an inverted sine?

i use to modulate both the frequency and the resonance simultanlious with a constant value module.....

so for example you can make the resonance grow faster than cutoff frequency, or the other way round....

faxi, cosine is shifted in phase by 90 degrees to sinusoid.
cosine lfo outputs both sine and cosine, it is perfect for 'circular' modulation
