Scope jpgs etc

Post by Neil B »

I'm in the process of building a website, mainly for my wife's paintings but also with some music pages.

Can you knowledgeable folk tell me if I need any permissions to include a couple of jpgs of say the Modular III, Miniscope etc? And how about a modular synth with Flexor modules in it?

May seem petty, but I like to play fair.

Well, I can't speeak for Creamware but imo if you're resproducing images to comment on or share info about the Creamware platform, then that's allowed under 'fair use'. Usually companies will only clamp down on something like this if you're sharing the actual resource images used in the devices, or if it's a forthcoming/unreleased product that they wish to keep under a lid.

Thanks for that Valis. I reckon that's a fair comment from you. Certainly makes a few of the web pages look better :)

I also added screenshots of some Scope devices on my homepage, I don`t see why Creamware should be against this...

my site is in fact based on the ModIII shell.
before I published it I mailed to CW - and soon got a nice positive reply by Mr. Hundt himself !

As long as you snap your own pictures from your own desktop then there shouldn't be much discussion about it.

Hey Roy,

I just wanted to say that your site is awesome.

Especially the detailed about some stuff, like how the CW ENV differs from the Adern one is really useful.
Or how the shapes from the countless LFOs differ...
This helps to work with modular enormiously...

Thanks!
:)
I learn more from day to day...
