Panning Sampled Horns 4 Live Feel

Post by dawman »

I have seen everything now. I bribed my nuendo / video buddy to stop by the crib and check out my rig. Of course he brought a hard drive w/ him, as he steals data as a hobby / habit. But he actually brought recordings that could be downloaded into Cubase 4. They sounded great. It was lots of big horn section songs re-done. They sounded so real, like a live recording w/ no audience ambience. But the little trick he did worked great. He was following the hits, then pans hard in either direction to almost give you the feeling that the section was all turning right , as if jamming live and swinging to and 'fro.

Sorry if I seem a trifle excited ( Alfred Hitchcock intro ),..but he has taken sample content, recorded it and mixed it w/ awesome results. I shall continue to bribe him as he is the video guy here in town, but as an engineer, he is full of tricks.

Boy have I got some great toys, and can't run half of 'em. This must change, Back to the DAWg's, they hunger.
