I guess one problem with single sample delays sometimes is, that you stack the tracks later on. Sometimes even without thinking about it? Some effects kind of use cross-channel processing. My guess is, that with these effects you will get in trouble, because the left and right will stack up, and then you have the real faze issues comming up. Just guessing though.
