VSTi tracks to Audio tracks for mixing?

Post by Hangee_77 »

When you want to change VST instrument (MIDI) tracks into Audio tracks, do you bounce (export) the tracks or record the VSTi tracks into audio tracks?

depends on if you are using Scope fx on that tracks -> record back

or just process nativly -> bouncing

I normally try to avoid that stuff, and work cmpletly realtime....

Yes, actually my project right now is just using the Tascam GVI sampler VSTi, no FX yet........just want to put them as audio tracks so I can put FX later on when doing the audio mixing.
So I guess bouncing is ok, rather than record individual VSTi tracks into audio tracks?
Btw, what do you mean by realtime?

realtime processing (actually processing the track 'life' along the natural timeline) is said to be better, specially if you pass the sequencer's mixer (regarding volume, eq's, fx's) and let the unsurpassed DSP's of your card do the job.
Yet some here like 'exporting the audio', but me myself never does it.
As Garyb says, you have to check the recording once anyway, so you don't win so much time.
