QWERTY Shortcuts 4 SFP

Post by dawman »

Pulsarians,..
Does anyone here use keyboard shortcuts 4 SFP? I'm aware of the Cubase 4 shorty's, but does SFP have any that are useful?

the best one EVER is "n"!

in example: you want to connect your minimax to your mixer. Connect Out L to the mixer. then press "n" and the other cable is connected to the next mixer input automatically.

if the device you want to connect has 4 outputs, connect the first one and press "n" 3 time more and they are all connected.

an easy one but saves A LOT of time, especially in high resolutions :)

Excellant,...Thank you.
I shall read all of the details, as this was an overlooked item to me so far. But as I keep trying to create more and more, these will definately help out while programming. When I play gigs I only use my controllers and never touch my apps once, except when guys want to see what I'm using, I'll give a little demo.
This new rack mounted QWERTY has so many extra keys I am going to have some fun.

F9 for routing window, F10 for filebrowser, F2 for renaming presets, arrows for incremental adjustment, numbers for broad adjustment. delete to remove device.

Click on a controller and then press the numbers (1..0 keys). this will set the knob to the relative position. For example: 0 = 0%, 9 = 100% etc.

and shift-arrow for 10x bigger steps :)

to duplicate a module including its settings in a patch/between patches: click original, ctrl-d, click new location
ctrl-s
'enter': flips active control to neutral and last setting
space: to toggle active button
n doesn't only connect the next IO too, it also works when removing connections, as does shift-n.

re: ScreenSets looks convenient for live gigs, or when working with prepared/fixed setup. for myself at home, as projects evolve, saved ScreenSets deteriorate: they don't toggle devices which weren't in the project before when the ScreenSet was saved.

"Insert" will do nearly the same - it enables overwriting the text field, if anything useable is found in the paste-buffer, it will be pasted in that spot. Even when nothing usefull is in the paste-buffer, it will select all inside the field allowing you to start typing the new value without having to erase the text-field first...

Lima and at0m ... I don't understand your tips. If I get this rigth, you click a text field (ie. the default 0.500 on the compressor M release time). Then you press "F2" or "insert" and then you type your new value. I just don't understand why you want to press "F2" or "insert". When I click it, the whole thing gets highlighted. So I don't need to erase anything before typing anything.

It appears useless to me. Maybe I just don't understand the concept??

Immanuel, clicking and starting to type works on most number fields, but not work when renaming on mixer channels, for example. So there I use "Insert" usually...
