Old analogue trick in Scope (with a little help from Cubase)

Post by Crickstone »

I remember tracking things like vocals with the backing tracks slowed down so ,of course, when played back at regular speed the vocals could hit all those ridiculously high notes ( and with a certain change of timbre) I can't seem to get my head around this one. I'm using Cubase for sequencing and some VSTs and then recording to VDAT. Any suggestions for achieving this?

The analogy of doing this digitally is pitch-shifting algorithms, w/ no formant shifting.

REAPER (www.cockos.com) has a "playback-speed" adjustment bar for this purpose.
