Extremely Thick Pads 4 ProWave

Post by dawman »

I love Creamware synths, Zarg, SpaceF,Saturn, etc. But have never gotten used to many presets which are bathed in chorus and Delay. I use to use a TC Electronics chorus pedal, and Lexicon PCM 41, and 70 to give space and FX to an already FAT BASTARD, but it was used sparingly, although I also bathed in delay at times.
John Bowen has always implemented the unison voice selector in the 2 beasts that I use. But Solaris at 16 voice poly w/ 2 voice unison detuned is just too punishing on the DSP's. But ProWave has the beautiful thick sound using the unison 2 voice, and at 14 voice polyphony it is very analog sounding w/o FX. Just bleed in some FX after you get the unison detune amount desired. I know this eats up the DSP's, but there is no equal to it's sound other than Solaris ( If you can load it @ 16 Voice ).
For those who really love to have their synths up front in the mix, this seems to be much easier than making the synth sound better after it has been recorded.
