Hullo, and happy echsmess.

A friend {seriously!} is interested in a Scope rig with two A 16 Ultras for A/D - he has a lot of outboard and hardware synths - at least, until he starts using Scope

How many Z-Link ports will he require? The two you can get with a Pro bundle, or will he need the pro bundle plus a Z-Link daughterboard?

Sorry if this has come up, but I haven't found an answer in the archives or CW's site, yet.

Edit, I have an A16 Ultra that I use for A/D expansion of my RME Fireface, but have never used it with Z-Link. The manual's still boxed up from my last move =\

2 z-link ports= 1 a16 ultra.

in order to run 2 a16's, he'll need two cards. there is no expansion daughter card.

the scope home has an adat expansion card included. that expansion card can be purchased separately for owners of older 3 dsp cards(luna2, powersampler and electra cards). 2 a16s could be used with one scope home if both zlink and adat ports were used.

Ouch.

I suppose one could get a Z-link card and an ADAT expansion, and do it that way? It might be feasible and cheaper.

the adat expansion is only for the 3 dsp card. when you buy a new scope home it comes with it. the 6 and 14 dsp cards can't use the adat expansion. it'd take 2 cards when using a 6 or 14dsp card. more cards are more fun.....
