I am not sure if you've discovered this, but as a side story I will say that I have lately been testing the lowest signal VDAT records in 32-bit mode, and it shows up as -180.6dB on meters within SFP, which I take as being right. This is in fact the lowest meters will display before -inf dB.

Anyway, when you load a tape in VDAT which was recorded at 32-bit you will manually have to set the resolution from 16-bit up to 32-bit (24-bit works too) or else this signal will show -90.3dB on the meters - that's 16-bit resolution! And surely, the meters don't lie :wink:.

So if you want to play back 32-bit VDAT-tapes at correct resolution, be sure to set bit-resolution manually.

Another tip would be to incorporate bit-resolution in tape-names, i.e. "Project_32b.vtp"
