Hi,
Im new to this forum and relatively new to Creamware. I did a 6 month swap for a pulsarII and A16Ultra for my Lynx2, UAD1 and OctoPre just to try out a different system. I have to say that the synths are fantastic and makes up for any loss in other qualities. Anyhow, I ended up buying my own pulsarII and A16Ultra for £470 of SOS and Ebay. Just wondering if there is an expansion card I could get the Z-Link working. I know the LunaII card expansion cards are available but can I use this with PulsarII. Did I mention the sythns?
Cheers

You can change the output board for a z-link one. Contact your distributor I guess, or Creamware direct.

You can also just hook up the card to the A16 by using ADAT cables.

well done and welcome

you can connect the A16U via 2 Adat optical cables if your Scope IO board has no Z-Link (there are different versions, it's exchangeable).
Sometimes there are offers that someone wants to trade his extension board, but I wouldn't buy a new one.
Instead just buy another card that already comes with the desired IO version.

It's more cost effective and you WILL WANT more DSPs for sure. You already noticed the great sound and that's the first symptom of addiction, sorry - it's just like that, but at least you're not alone...

I guess from your nick that you're a guitar fan - well, you just started to get the best guitar processing unit money can buy.

Essential tools are Celmo's guitar amp and speaker simulation, his Spring reverb and Tape Delay (modelled after a vintage italian unit).
SpaceF's Echo (Roland wanted to hire him not too long ago...) which hit's the character of the afforementioned company's famous boxes, but extends it lightyears beyond the original.
It comes (very affordable) as part of his BlackBox/Silverdisk packages - together with tons of useful stuff for filtering and soundshaping 'til asylum...

Not to forget the stock effects (!), excellent reverbs, CWA's own Dynatube amp sims, the Vinco compressor and the Modular synth (great to build your own FX chains), in particular with the Flexor extension.

You don't need all that stuff to start with, but be prepared to want some...
You just need a preamp with high impedance input before the A16 - of course it integrates your favourite outboard gear if there's any...

cheers, Tom

Hi,
Thanx darkrezin and astroman for the info. I will just use the ADAT connects for the time being until I get another Pulsar with ZLink (cheers astroman). I do intend to splash out on some plugs, namely one of the dynatubes. I currently using a PODXT which is alright. Ive heard some great samples of dynatube on this forum and Im very impressed. I see a great future with this rig.

Hi and welcome,
I have the dynatube VX and it truly spectacular if you have ever played through a vintage AC30 you'll know what I mean. In hind sight I should have got the whole package...but as far as I'm concerned the dynatube sound is amazing and very friendly with your old stomp boxes, especially if you add a little real tube warm from a pre-amp. I have a modified SPL Gainstation with NOS Phillips 12AX7 and Lundahl transformer....plus a OC44 Trany from a custom treble booster and the sound is to die for...so you have chosen the right path my friend for studio, synth, effects, amp sims and the rest, Creamware is definitely the best...

Yeah, all that is right...

CW is the best VA simulation..... either you go for real hardware or take Creamware.

And don`t forget this nice userbase....

Hi All,
Thanx for your knowledge. My friend has some excellent plugs, so I'll go around and hassle him to let me try some on his SFP. Im hoping he has the dynatube bundle (well praying), but he uses his mostly for mastering. If only my 4 year old daughter could go out and work, or I'd be buying this month. I'll have to settle for my outboard stuff until next month. I think I'm getting DSP-itis.
Thanx All!
