Hi,
I was looking at the Scope line, and was wondering how the high reported number of I/Os (e.g. 36 in Scope Home) are accomodated when there is only one stereo pair of I/Os (counting digital and analog)?
Basically I am looking for connecting loads of analog inputs to a card. Not using optical or digital. Does Scope allow for that?
thanks,
mohsen
Scope I/O Count?
The Scope Home, with an ADAT io and 2 Z-Link, will have following connections:
- analog io
- S/P-DIF io
- optical: can be used as either optical S/P-DIF or ADAT, ADAT offering 8io using a CW A8 or 3rd party convertor box,
- 2 Z-Link with each 8io, allows to connect an A16U (balanced, jacks), or 2 Luna2496 boxes (unbalanced, RCA).
That's how it sums up to the 36 io. The Z-Link IO, a proprietary format over Firewire cables, only connects CW's A16U or up to 2 Luna2496's. Z-Link allows 96kHz with all IO, ADAT can use "S-Mux" protocol to do 96kHz to the A16u but then only half of the amount of channels...
CW's precedessor of the A16U, the A16, only connects to 2 ADAT port IO pairs, so a Scope Home with one ADAT IO pairs will only allow to connect 8 of the A16's channels...
Hope this sums it up, or about - feel free to ask us to elaborate on this

A Scope Home + ADAT Expansion+ 2 A16 Ultra AD/DA converter boxes will give you 32ins and outs analog from the A16's Ultra + the analog on the card = 34 ins and 34 outs.
Plus the SPDIF I/0 =36 ins and 36 outs.

4 live work look at the Behringer ADA8000 Ultragain. Just one more German product I am using. Next thing you know I will be buying a BMW or Porsche. I wish!!! I drive shitter cars and trucks, it's my trademark, as all of my money is in real estate and Scope. You know, things that have a great return on investment. Fuck the cars. It just dawned on me, I'm even a Jaegermeister drinker WTF is happening to me. Well with a name like Vogts and a 300 year old family crest, I guess it was meant to be.
