I apologize if this is the wrong forum, but:

Where can one typically get an STDM cable? Is it a common clone item, or is it creamware specific and you have to get it from a distributor?

it's a very simple item, yet you have to get it from a distributor as there's no identical 'standard' application for such cables.

It's easy to DIY if(!) you have all the parts around, but don't even think you could spare something in case you have to get them yourself...

cheers, Tom

Well, I don't think I could trust myself with DIY.. hehe.. I tried to splice 2 midi cables together into a Y splitter once, and blew up a piece of gear! (luckily just a cheap Korg Electribe)

per single, you greedy dumphe*ds
I don't know the name, the shop holder didn't know eighter, I remember having asked him.
He just ordered the appropriate number from a parts ordering book...

The two last ones he had in stock wasn't asked for since ages.
I ordered a few extra extra to experiment with, for my G4 door not be able to close when using STDM cables problem (sigh).

I succeeded to a high degree, but the few spikes that come in every now and then with the mutanted cable made the solution useless.
The G4 door however was closing perfectly...

That doesn't seem like a very good deal. We sell the completed S/TDM cables for $9.99 each so the individual plugs must be available for less than 1.50EUR.
