For those of you using PC CUBASE and experiencing the startup problem (whenf you accidentally close PULSAR first), there is a new beta version available on the steinberg ftp that fixes the problem.

So far on my setup it hasnt locked me out of starting cubase, and also it displays a status message indicating current startup task to aid in troubleshooting.
Latest CUBASE Public Beta fixes startup freeze.
