Hi from a newbie !
I finally purchased my Minimax ASB this week and have found it to be everything I expected. I have connected it via USB to a Windows XP machine in the studio and it works great, BUT I have a machine which runs Win2000 service pack4 which I also need to use at home.
When I plug Minimax into the USB port, Windows finds the new hardware but then I get the blue screen of death as the driver is updated. I get an error with usbaudio.sys file and then a full memory dump. I have also tried booting the PC with the Minimax connected and it does exactly the same thing during boot-up.
Has anyone else had this problem and if so how did you fix it ? I have tried to find a newer version of usbaudio.sys but have not been succesful, but I am not sure whether this is the root cause anyway.
Apart from that the Minimax is just great !

On the ASB web site, it says "Download the software for Windows XP for free...." So I'm assuming that it's not compatible with W2k. Do you have any other machines with W2k that you can test it out on? Unless you happen to make it work, I'm guessing that it's not supported.
The software only seems to work with the lastest versin of OS X (Tiger - 10.4) as well, not with earlier versions of OS X. Some new software these days just doesn't support the older OSes.

Thannks for your reply Shayne. I have tried the minimax with two Win2000 machines, the same thing happens with both. There is an RTF file with the Minimax software which clearly states Win XP / 2000 , I guess it may be a typing error !
It's been a week since I registered my minimax purchase with creamware.de but still no reply from Germany yet. The Canadian office have suggested they may all be taking vacation. ( I forget that July is summer holiday time in the northern hemisphere ! )
It's not such big drama just now as I am using the Minimax as a Live Synth not part of a midi production setup.
Cheers.
