Will there be more ASBs???

I know they can make one last authentic sound box with the already existing Pro-One plug-in code but will there be any more?

I already have them all in plugin format and I'm hoping that new ones will coming out but now they will have to start writing new code instead of porting existing ones. From older posts, it seems like the original programmer that created the basic framework for all these amazing emulations is not with Creamware anymore. We also haven't seen any new emulations since then. Does anyone here know the scoop?

That's true. I was thinking synthesizers since that's what all the ASBs have been about so far. Maybe there is hope with these new coders after all

I do not know if the Prodyssey ASb was already announced.

BTW, there are still the Pro-One and the Vectron that could be released as Authentic Sound Boxes".

If the principle to qualify a ASB product is that the original is not produced anymore for ages this would apply (anyway there are still some enhanced Minimoog produced nowadays).

But what could also be cool is too release kind of virtually born synth like the Lightwave, the UKNOW 007 (remind me something anyway), Prisma, Blue Synth, Poison ... There are still a large amount of possibility there.

Also read somewhere in winter some rumours about a Waldorf Wave Clone ASB project... but do not know if this one just collapsed with Waldorf Rebirth.

If something like Vectron were released in ASB form, then it'd have to be rewritten to remove all the gritty aliasing. I know sometimes the lo-fi digital aliasing might be desired, but most of the time these days we (at least I) want pristine sound quality a la Cakewalk's Rapture synth (fantastic!). Unfortunately, Rapture doesn't have all the features that Vectron does, so I wish there could be a marriage between the two.

The same goes with any of CW's older synths, too.

I don't think the Pro One will be the next one - we already have the Prophet... I would love the next ASB boxes to be:

1) A Modular III ASB box - it would be oodles betten than the Nord - and if it included the Flexor modules, it would be a killer...

2) A TR808 emulation

I guess I wasn't very creative with my last post... but it makes sense... indeed it's clear now that CW excels at that type of modelling... and gotta tell you the truth I like it that way... I really don't mind that there is not CW equivalent of the Hartmann Neuron... Analog sound is my thing...

Anyway... we also have to think about what CW already has... it's obvious they want to re-use what they have (witness the Minixmax, the Prophet, the Prodissey and the organ - can't remember the model)... so they have the modular... that's why I made an educated guess... Remember that they also have the UKNOW...
Question for everyone - how close if the UKNOW to the real thing? does it model the synth or does it only copy the structure using CW's atoms?... If it's modelled, then there you have it... the could use it as the basis for a Jupiter...

I now own a Minimax and a Pro12 ABD atm

I am really in love with them, the match nicely against my Poly Evolver Keys+Rack.

Especialy the Pro12 combined with the Polyevolver is very nice..

I will buy the Prodyssey ASB the minute it is available, it was always my dream to the have a polyphonic midified Odyssey.

BTW, i do think they need to work on the poly/note stealing issues soon before making any more boxes, or they will be in big problems again like a few years ago. Bugs and so arent good news for a (small) company like Creamware. People will be posting this bugs on forums and the internet, and then maybe sales will come to a halt, which isnt good if we wanna see the OSCar ASB anyday soon

Just as well. Roland's lawyers would have them for breakfast, which puts the JP8 suggestion (or anything else Roland clone wise) right out the window for a commercial CW product.

True - I guess that only leaves the modular... and then they are out of stuff to port from Scope to ASB... So I guess, we are right back at the beginning... What's next? If not the ASB Modular, then what? So many emulations to choose from... Here's a crazy idea... A DSP modular moog... either an ASB of the Moog 15 (a small one) or an ASB of the combination Voyager + CP box + VX box, complete with patch points - could be 3.5 cords, I don't care - Or even crazier, an ARP 2600 using the prodissey engine and 3.5 patch points?
