I want to use Mod II inside of Solaris today, so I am doing some experimenting using 2 x MultiOsc per slot, I can always add more. But I call upon the genius of my fellow Pulsarians for examples, or ideas. I find all sounds amazing in this scenario, so if you think I won't like or use your help, don't be shy. For I am looking for exactly those esoteric, and SFX type ideas. For when it comes to fat pads, these are a cinch 4 me, as I have used the Oberheims to their limits with those. But I must admit, last summer I laughed when you guys we telling me how mighty Solaris and ModIII/Flexor were. I was thinking quietly," A bunch of young guys who never heard the big fatties in the '80's ". Well, I admit you guys were right. These synths are also big fatties, they still do not convince me on mono/legato low end work. But I no longer carry my Oberheims to the gigs. Even if I take a tour w/ Annie Lennox ( maybe ), or someone next year. I will no longer punish the road crew. They must have hated me 2 years ago as I had a rather large hardware rig still.
Imagine being a stagehand and seeing:
Hammond B3 on casters/anvil top cover case
Helpenstill Upright Piano/ casters,Top cov.cs.
Yamaha CS-80/comes in a case itself/w/anvil it weighed 240 lbs.!!
Oberheim Matrix12 w/ XPander and stand/ w/anvils
2 x Leslie 147's w/ anvils
2 x Barbetta Sona 31's
2 x 24U ATA's A & S Cases of Hollywood
both stuffed w/ Lexicons, and anything that had LED's,i.e.Studio Electronics SE-1x's x 2.
You get the picture?
Now,
I load and unload myself every night.
2 x KS-88's
1 x 8U, 1 x 4U, 1 x 8U, 2 x Barbetta's & Pro3t.
I only have you guys to thank. The touring guys are gonna shit when they see my rig in action this summer. They all come through town. Brooks & Dunn, and lot's of other JoeBobs. But most of my fellow keyboard players make the big bucks w/ the JoeBobs, as they are always touring.
Anyway any ideas w/ Solaris & Mod II. please respond. Got to go, I'm trying to create a Country/Western synth pad for the good ol' boys.
