Hi,

I've got P2 and Powersampler with 1x ADAT breakout box for input and output.

I would like to use a dynamic mic with my system but don't wish to use an external mixer so can I take a mic signal into the ADAT input? - The other alternative is to use my external desk but it's a bit noisy and takes up too much space? - Well atleast for my liking anyway.

The ADAT in/outs are unbalanced phono jacks btw.

I don't exactly like M-Audio, but their <a href=http://www.samedaymusic.com/productrevi ... ioBuddy</a> (Midiman legacy) is a clean, cheap preamp - 2 channels, phantom power, instrument compatible, symmetrix/asymmetric.

cheers, Tom

Thanks, I'm looking into it. Do U use this? - And will it take the signal down the Pulsar mixer eg.bigmixer etc...?

I'm curious to know exactly how it would interact with my sfp projects etc...OK..

I plug a guitar in, electric/bass/electro acoustic or a microphone, dynamic or condenser? - Right?

Where would the audio buddy or equivalent plug into? - The left/right in on the Pulsar 2?

One or more of the ADAT inputs for Pulsar 2? - Please elaborate - New topic.

Thanks.

yes, I've recently bought one - though my decision was based on a mic-pre comparison that's already a couple of years old.

They aquired the same signal by 32 or so different amps and put the resulting .wav files on the mag CD.
I made notes which track I liked without knowing what was playing.
There were several amps I didn't like which were much more expensive than the ugly box.

it fits perfectly with my old A16's symmetric 1/4 inch jacks (you'd need a cable or adapter to RCA) and appears on ADAT 1+2 in the routing, but I could as well plug it into the Pulsar's analog ins.

the instrument ins are on the front side, mic ins (XLR) on the back. You can have 1 mic and 1 instrument, or 2 mics, or 2 instruments connected simultaneously.

cheers, Tom

Thanks,

That's what I needed to know, so I know it will work OK without any messing about other than finding the right cable.
