Hello, I'm glad I find this forum !!

I'm new to Creamware hardwares & am not so sure about this. I recently buy 2 pulsarII cards & a sync board ad-on. I've readed about the sync board ad-on making availabel high xternal clock rates if I slave it. So my question is, what are the results? Does anyone has ecsperences with Scope slaved to 96kHz?

If is ok with Scope is their anything compromized? My idea is to buys a good studio clock if is ok.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Pulsar slaves fine to any samplerate, even an end beyond 96kHz. There's 2 main problems with higher samplerates though.

One issue lies in the 14/15 dsp Scope card, which, according to CW's documentation and my own experience, doesn't do 96kHz properly. I get constant DSP overload messages and run only on low load (up to about 50%) and with selected devices/modules to avoid errors.

Here we come to the next issue, which goes for any CW card: in order to maintain proper calculating order inside some heavy modules/atoms, these are locked to a single chip. Minimax' filter, and a couple Adern Flexor modules which allow only single polyphony, are too heavy to fit on a single DSP at 96kHz and above. For this problem, the fix is to avoid these specific devices/modules.

So full 96kHz support is only guaranteed to work with cards up to 6 DSP's, and for all modules/devices except Minimax and the heaviest Flexor modules.

Hope this helps and doesnt make it all even more confusing. I seem to have a gene for that

I now knowe not to buy a Scope pro card for a 96kHz system !!

I will run my 2 6dsp cards at 96kHz & maybee adds a no.3 project card to my recording DAW.

Thanks again
